Excellent sight, but custom fitting required
This is an excellent improvement to the factory sights on the 4" barreled Redhawk. "It makes the gun!" Installation by a gunsmith or mechanically competent person is a must.
There are two things to be noted. First, the sight did not fit perfectly in the half-moon groove of the gun. Its sides and bottom (where sprue from the fluorescent polycarbonate sticks out) had a little too much material for drop-in installation. It must be hand fitted to fit the gun's groove, using a hand file or other tool.
The second thing to be noted is that the sight has no hole for the roll pin; drilling a 3/16" hole is required for installation.
If you have the patience for hand fitting, you can install this sight in less than an hour.
